Glamping Holiday for Cyclists Devon

The price of following one's passions often comes at the expense of spending time with family.

Many of my cycling friends have perpetual complaints from their other half about this.

No one wants to have to choose between a cycling trip and a family time.

Hartridge Springs allows you to do both. In style.

Cycling in the Blackdown Hills

We’re located among the most famous cycling routes in Devon. The Blackdown Hills AONB landscape provides challenging climbs for advanced cyclists, as well as more relaxing rides.

Road cyclists find endless choices, as do mountain bikers. All surfaces you can imagine, within a short pedal away.

The Tour of Britain regularly passes through Devon, for several reasons. For one; the dramatic scenery of cliffs on Jurassic Coast, steep and soft hills, river valleys- all paints the ideal backdrop to ride with.

We're used to seeing Lycra-clad guests arriving. In August, a cheerful and colourful crowd approached, in peloton formation. Here’s what one of them had to say about Hartridge Springs:

“ The perfect place to rest up between rides”- Harry E.

Whether you’re a ‘Fred’, ‘Hubbard’ or ride a century before breakfast, Hartridge Springs is the place to be.

A quick Google search of Upottery cycle routes yields many choices, for example:

What else, beside cycling?

While the cyclists are out, the remaining party can enjoy our spa facilities, go on walks, visit the Jurassic Coast or just sit by the in-tent wood fires. Hartridge Springs caters for the whole family. More information

After a long ride in the hills, you’ll feel a huge endorphin/adrenaline rush, closely followed by the need to put your feet up! Neurotransmitters are the name of the game. Next you can cozy up with your loved ones, for a touch of Oxytocin.

Our wood-fired sauna is the ideal place to recover aching muscles and to relax inflammation. We also offer healthy choices of meals, to fuel the machine that drives the bike- your body.

Here's a casual cyclist, my father, your host at Hartridge Springs- indulging in a hillside ride/drone selfie.

We're offering group discounts, when multiple tents are booked. September and October provide slightly milder climates, ideal for longer rides.
